Acupuncture

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a treatment devised by an Ancient Chinese Agricultural Society over 2,500

years ago. Diligently studying the body they developed their unique and very accurate

system of Medicine by observing an individual’s mind, body, spirit, emotions and the

world around them.

These Ancient Chinese believed that by these observations and the effect of their diagnosis

they were convinced that the body was capable of healing itself, once encouraged or

stimulated in the right way. They believed that the body's flow of energy, or Qi, needs

to be balanced in order to achieve good mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health.

When Qi or energy is blocked, stagnation occurs and the channels of the body are weakened

or compromised. Inserting a needle unblocks stagnation, releasing a flow of Qi or energy,

the channels are then unblocked which promotes the smooth flow of Qi.
